You may be familiar with the acronym HTF. This stands for "Hard to Find", and in the world of online sewing it means a fabric that everybody wants and no one can find. It's a perfect demonstration of supply and demand. You may see them up for sale for a pretty penny at eBay and various Facebook pages. Or, if you're like me and have been around the sewing business for a while, you may have lucked into buying some of these fabrics when they were readily available.
Of course then once you have it, the question is, do you hoard it, resell it, or sew it up? I say hoard it and then sew it up a little at a time. Cutting into HTF fabric is exciting and feels a little risky (what if my project doesn't turn out?), but it's got to be done. Sewing up your HTF fabric is like using the good china on a random Thursday. It just feels good!
