I admit it: I don't like to show off my messes.
When I am taking photos that I *think* might end up in the blog, I try to take them in parts of the house that are relatively neat, or I crop out the worst of the clutter. Oh come on now. You do it too, don't you?
Call it misleading if you will, but I like to think of it as putting my best foot forward.
But I just had to snap this pic of my house in its organic state yesterday, because it very accurately represents how we live around here from day to day. Witness the partially folded laundry, random toys here and there, partially completed art projects, and someone's lunch plate still on the table.
You know what, though? I don't really mind. Even though I feel like I am fighting a constant never-ending losing battle with clutter, and my house will never be on the pages of House Beautiful, this is a home that is filled with laughter, activity, creativity and fun. I think messes are a small price to pay for that.
WHEW! I was beginning to hate you. All of the sewing talent, the cooking, (mmmm.. biscuits) and then all the cute pics of a clean house. Now that I know it's not always perfect, I think I can be your friend again. :-)
Happy Belated anniversary. I think I still have my bridesmaid dress somewhere. I should have put it on again to toast y'all. :-) Well, at least looked at it. No way it'd fit me now.
Love ya!

I love it! I am totally the same way with picture taking, lol. I don't think it is humanly possible to keep a house clean for more than 6 hours (unless the kids are sleeping!)
