You may have noticed that so far in this blog I have chosen to keep my children's names and faces private. It's not that I wouldn't LOVE to show them to you - trust me, they are exceedingly adorable creatures. It's just that I am still feeling my way through this whole blogging-to-the-world-about-my-life-and-slowly-losing-my-anonymity thing. I don't mind revealing myself to you (within reason, haha!), but I am not as comfortable with making that decision on behalf of my children.
But as I've continued with this process, I feel like I am getting to know some of you, and I certainly hope you feel as though you are getting to know me. I love sharing the small details of my life with you, and I appreciate the listening ear you offer. And somehow, saying "my seven-year-old" is starting to feel a little too impersonal.
Therefore, as a compromise, I have decided to assign my children pseudonyms, which I will use from here forward. Each one has been chosen to reflect an aspect of their own unique personalities. So, may I introduce:
The Princess - my seven-year-old daughter. The firstborn of the family, with two loyal subjects, her younger brothers. She is (usually) a benevolent ruler.
Radar - my sensitive and intuitive five-year-old, who never misses a thing. He is able to hear the school bus approaching the neighborhood well before anyone else, just like Radar O'Reilly on MASH.
Superman - my spunky, impish two-year-old, who despite his physical challenges thinks he can do *anything*, and none of us are going to tell him otherwise.
We're all pleased to meet you! On with the blogging.
