Hello, friends! I have been absent from the blogging world for a good reason. I had the opportunity to take my children (along with my father) on a road trip "up north" to visit my extended family. While we were there, we took a quick side trip to see the Statue of Liberty. My kids were amazed to see this well-known landmark in person, and it was a great opportunity to explain to them what Lady Liberty means to me. I feel very fortunate and thankful to live in a country where I can vote as I wish, worship as I wish, and express my opinions in a public way without fear of retribution. This is something I hope I will never take for granted.
